She bit her lip. He had already managed to ignite within her, a nervous habit, one which was not in her possesion before there meeting. Or perhaps not a nervous habit, maybe practice for something she'd rather have. In any case, it would need to be solved with the hurrying of their courtship.

His offer was hard to refuse. But Ivy did not want to give in so easily. He seemed too used to taking control of situations such as these, but then again he didn't seem too used to woman like Ivy. Which suited her fine.

A small laugh escaped her pretty mouth, and with it some smoke from her dying cigarrette. She squashed the smoke in the ashtray and let her eyes wander his face. Ivy wasn't the type of woman to be taken for a fool. "You'd leave with me right now? Not knowing anything?" A smile again. "What would I say?" She pretended to think about it and licked her lips nonchalantly.

"I'd say, I need to powder my nose. So meet me at the door, in 5 minutes." And with that, she got up from the stool, put her hand through her hair and wandered to the dingy bathroom.

The hand on thigh trick. It is an old, yet consistently effective trick.

And when done just the right way, can get huge results.

This 'Eve' was living up to her namesake. An undeniable temptress. And Sebastian was on the verge of emulating Adam.

He turned in his seat, shifting himself away from her touch and to the shelter of the bar, where he focused on his glass for a few moments and willed himself to think about Fulbert the Fearful and his rise to power.

Or better yet, he should think about Fulbert's downfall.

Yeah.

Once he had...gathered his thoughts on history, Sebastian curled his lip once more before he replied to her remark on sticking around.

"What if I decide to leave this place? With you? And have you do the finding out instead?"

He was smug. Perhaps the most smug man she had ever met. But with that in mind, no one had turned her on as much as he had in the last ten minutes. So she mentally added 'smug' as a new criteria on her list for men. And for his score card, she gave him a big tick.

"Adam?" She said, supressing a laugh. "Adam and Eve huh?" A small chuckle escaped her, and she let her head glance down to the bar, almost embarrassed at the fact that she was laughing at his lame joke. When her face reappeared and held gaze with his, she realised he had almost broken his facade and laughed at his joke too. It was odd little moment that, would stay in her mind.

"It's not as fun when they know what you want. Besides, what if you are better that what my expectations are?" She paused, her eyes searched his eyes. It was void of any recognisable emotion. He wasn't mocking, teasing, being serious or seducing her, that of which she could see. This man was truly mysterious.

"Although I highly doubt it." Her fingers then found themselves on his upper leg, her fingers drawing nonchalantly, her eyes seeing what kind of reaction she would get. Basically to see if she could get a rise out of him, so to speak. " But I'm all for, you proving me wrong."

Another sip of her drink, and the glass was empty. Taking her eyes off him for but a moment, she beckoned to the barkeep who refilled it.

"What am I doing here?" She bit her lower lip, and smiled. "Well if you stick around long enough, you might just find out."

Sebastian would have to admit he was enjoying the banter with this woman. She was applying just the right mix of challenge and encouragement, all in a package that his eyes relished. His smirk grew into a mischievous grin - a sure sign that she had managed to generate more than the usual interest from him. Pollux liked games, and he liked them even better when he worked hard for the win.

"Interesting. Have you, so early in the night, already formed expectations of me?" He turned towards her again, leaning an elbow on the bar in front of him to support the weight that he inclined in her direction. "Well you know, the easiest way to have your expectations met, is to let the other party know what they are."

His eyes continued traveling her, but not in a manner that said he approved of what he saw, but that he admired it. That was the key word there. He brought his gaze back to her face when she gave him a name to call her by. Obviously a fake one, but it will do.

"Eve." And the grin indented his cheek, "Then you can call me Adam." Predictable, but appropriate. His dimple deepened and the smile threatened to break into a laugh. But it is better not to be the first to laugh at your own joke.

So he just sat there, looking at her, his smile betraying his amusement at her presence. Sebastian allowed her to ask another question, then tipped his glass to his lips before giving an answer.

"I came here because... I was bored. And now you're here, which means that I made the right decision by coming eh? How about you, Eve? What are you looking for here? Or better yet..."

He leaned forward again and used her own move against her, bringing his mouth close to her ear so he could smell her again. He found that scent of hers instantly addictive. "Why don't you tell me what your... expectations are?"

He was smooth. She had known smooth, known sleazy, known confident, known shy. In short, she had known a lot of men, but he seemed different. Like a hidden confidence that he only allowed to be seen in intimate situations. Ivy smirked to herself at the thought.

"We'll see..." She said, as she took a puff of her cigarette and blew the smoke to the side. "All men like to think they're better than they are." Ivy flicked the burnt ash off her stick, keeping her blue eyes on his, "They rarely ever live up to expectations."

He made her hot. This man, at the dingy bar, with his confidence and even arrogance made her a little uncomfortable in her tight blouse, and billowing robes. He had scultped lips, and she envied the cigarette every time it touched his lips.

"For appearance's sake, my name is..." Ivy thought for a moment, her cigarette to her lips, and the she smiled. "Eve. My name is Eve." He didn't look like he cared wether her name was Jane or Sally, but it felt less sleazy this way.

The fact that he was married, didn't really bother her. She just needed to know. There was nothing worse than some crazy wife casting all sorts of horrid spells on a her, she had enought to contend with.

"Me? Married?" Ivy almost laughed. "What does it matter if I am?" Pausing for a moment, she leant in closer to his ear. "I hardly think it'll change the course of the evening... Don't you agree?" Her last words were barely a whisper, and she lent back to the bar and took a sip of her drink.

Smiling, she swallowed rather slowly, and let his eyes evaluate her. Ivy was the same as he. Good looking and all too aware of it. The two of them knew what happened when a handsome man met a beautiful woman at a dingy bar.

She only wondered who would make the first move. It was hard to hold back, as his eyes were coaxing her and were so close to persuading her. But alas, she would let the evening take it's due course and see if it led to where she thought it would.

"So stranger...What brings you here?"

Pollux was not fooled. He was familiar with the little tests women applied on men to see if they were worth taking home. They needed a guarantee that the man was talented in more than just smooth talk.

Thus, it was with expertise that Sebastian lit her cigarette. He had leaned in just enough for them to catch each other's scent, keeping eye contact while maintaining the smirk. He waited until her eyes would move from lighting the cigarette to his, which would signal that the leaves had been sufficiently lit.

And he would make sure that it wasn't just the tobacco that caught the spark.

"Forget your name? Not likely, unless you choose not to tell me what it is which, for the meantime, is fine with me. I like mystery.

But as for what you'll forget in the morning... I think I can make sure that you'll be remembering plenty."

Through the smoke he had caught a whiff of her. The scent matched the look. It was seductive. Alluring. It was the kind that made him want to move forward and claim a taste of her neck. He ran his tongue along the inside of his cheek to control himself.

Sebastian then shifted back to his original position and faced the bar, puffing nonchalantly on his cigarette as if he wasn't just affected by her closeness. He chuckled when she asked if he was married.

"That is a smart question. Rather blunt and unexpected so early in the night, nonetheless smart. Lucky for us both that I'm not. I should ask you the same in return."

He returned to facing her and did not hide the admiring glint in his eye as he made an obvious head to toe appraisal. "I don't see a ring, so I'm hoping, for both our sakes, that you're not."

"And I like the way you think. It'll get even more interesting, 'though, if we get to know each other in a different aspect."

Eyebrows arched in a questioning yet amused manner. He was straight to the point. And thats exactly what she was looking for tonight. Straight to the point...

A shrug of her shoulder and a small smile. "Sounds alright to me. Besides, you look like the type I like. Nameless and most likely to forget mine, in the morning." Hey she could be blunt too. She never was one for being coy.

She watched him. With his wand. It made her smirk to herself, almost, as she watched him and his movements. It was all very theatrical, and he seemed to enjoy her. At least the way she was with him.

It seemed a little aneased at having to light her cigarette, but Ivy found in most useful in determining a man's character by the way in which he lit it. If he leaned to close it meant he was sleazy, and perhaps a little selfish in that department. Leaned away too much, not confident and probably a little inexperienced. But he was confident. To the point where it made her a litte uneasy, wondering if he was going to make the first move.

Ivy leaned a little, letting the flame dance around the end of her cigarrette before satisfied it would stay lit, and she inhaled. Through the smoke that blurred her vision, she studied his facial features. They were strong, with a hard jaw and eyes that made the hair prick up on her neck.

His strong face, and almost arrogant demeanour was attractive though. She liked a man that would take control, and he certainly looked like he was used to be just that.

"Only thing is.. Are you married?" She asked, as she sipped her glass.

The curl remained on his lip as she replied. Had she given a pedestrian answer, he would have lost interest. Sebastian Pollux is a man who can afford to be picky with women.

This one seemed to fit his standards.

"Ah but semantics is half the fun. I'm sure you're the kind who enjoys digging for the hidden meaning." He watched her lips move into a smile and he kept his eyes there, letting her know that he had enough confidence to kiss her when he felt like it.

Not just yet, though. Pollux enjoys banter.

It is, after all, part of foreplay.

"I'm not from here," he told her before he looked up and re-established eye contact. "And I like the way you think. It'll get even more interesting, 'though, if we get to know each other in a different aspect."

Not very subtle, but it was a way of testing the waters.

He reached into his jacket pocket to produce his wand, which he held grandiosely in front of her. They were in the wizarding world, after all. It was assumed that everybody here dabbled in magic. That she was asking him for a light and not producing it herself said something. Sebastian Pollux would oblige to find out what it was.

He muttered a spell "Ignis" and a small flame appeared at the tip of the wand. He moved it towards her cigarette.

She watched him. The way he seemed used to everything being done for him, or done when asked. It was kind of a turn on, she had to admit.

Ivy waited patiently as she watched the barkeep refill his drink. It was the anticipation, after all, that made most things worth it. She had an inkling that this would be no different.

Her dainty shoulders shrugged at the questions he offered her. "There all just semantics anyway. So for now lets say...Both." Her lips curled into a smile, before she let her eyes fall to her glass, and then back to him.

"So what about you? I mean I haven't seen you here before..." She paused and bit her lip. "Wait. Don't answer that. The less we know, the more interesting it gets right?" And she smiled to the barkeep as he gave her a fresh drink, without prompting.

Ivy was a good looking woman. He was a goodlooking man. Ivy knew what happened when a beautiful woman and a handsome man, shared drinks at a bar. It meant a good night, and the satisfaction of not having to worry about phone numbers, addresses even names come to that.

It had all the appearance of a perfect night. Ivy crossed her fingers behind her back, as a silent wish to herself, before she turned her attention back to the man.

She sat up on the stool that was near him, and took one of her own cigarettes out. "You got a light?"

Sebastian Pollux is a man spoiled by life itself. Things had always come easily for him. He had been born into a life of privilege, with no parents except for a grandfather who was content with providing whatever his grandson claimed he needed.

It had not come as a surprise to him that the woman he'd been admiring had displayed interest. He was used to such occurrences and it was obvious in his face as he watched her approach, betrayed by the smug curl on his lip which he made no effort to hide.

You need some company?

Sebastian nodded in acknowledgment, choosing not to speak for the moment and, instead, snapped his fingers at the barkeep. He gestured to his nearly empty glass. The barkeep nodded to show he understood and produced a refill moments later.

It was a display of power. It was the Pollux way of puffing one's chest.

Bringing his cigarette back up to his lips, Sebastian sucked on it, producing a crackle that accompanied the momentary red orange radiance that appeared on the cigarette's tip. His eyes lingered on the woman as her lips played with her glass.

"I do not need. I want," he finally spoke with a playful arch of his brow. "And how about you? Are you needing something? Or do you want something?" He leaned forward slightly, with one elbow resting on the bar beside him.

"Either way, I'm sure I can help you out."

Her hand rubbed her forehead, and her brows furrowed as she felt the ever so slight threat of a headache. Or even a migraine. She couldn't decide which it would be, but she knew that none would be welcome tonight.

With a sigh, Ivy slipped onto one of the bar stools and forced a smile at the barmaid as she was given her usual. Taking a sip, IVy stifled a yawn, as she let her eyes wander the confines of the dingy establishment.

There were the usual drunks, and the patrons who seemed to make this hole their home. There place of dwelling rather, it would be quite difficult to see this dimly lit place as 'homey'.

Something did however, catch her eye. And what an eyeful he was. It was the usual place for somebody remotely good looking to be, and as she did when she started to drink, Ivy smiled to herself and made her way to the new comer.

He was sat by himself, a drink in hand and she had noticed him noticing her, but she could tell he was the type of guy that let girls come to him. Which was fine with her tonight.

You need some company? She asked, taking another sip and letting her lips linger around the rim of the glass, wandering if he would get her meaning...

The Leaky Cauldron was the ideal place to be if a person of the magical world was waiting to hear news from the muggle world. It was for fairly obvious reasons - the place was the gateway between the two. A couple taps on the right brick and, voila, exit from one, enter the other.

Sebastian's pedigree would normally disapprove of his presence at such a place, but his obligations to his group required him to be there. Mr. Pollux himself had no qualms about mixing with the mixed or mudbloods - an ideal that would be disapproved by his colleagues and which he didn't generally display. He was, however, loyal to his family.

A family that was loyal to the Dark Lord's cause.

And that was all the push he needed to bring him to this direction.

He leaned back against his chair and enjoyed his tobacco. On his lips appeared the self-satisfied smugness that liked to show itself everytime he succeeded in something. Sebastian Pollux was a man who treated everything as if it was a game. It was how he rolled.

Eavesdropping done, Sebastian decided that he may now celebrate. With a careless gesture, he managed to get the barwench to bring him some cognac. Firewhiskey, it was overrated.

The haughty curl of his lip was still evident in his face when the door to the cauldron opened to reveal a woman. Blonde, with a figure that was just how Sebastian preferred women. Not too thin, perfect curves in all the right places, a waist that just called for arms to be put around it...

A grin climbed up the Death Eater's mouth. Let the celebration commence.

He chose to sit back and observe the woman for a few minutes before he made his move.

Droplets of salivia rained down upon her face, and wit a wipe of her hand smeared them off her face. If the spit had come from any where else Ivy probably would have cursed the mouth shut.

But then she'd be fired. Probably jailed even.

Her boss, the Minister of Magic was the source of the flying flem, a middle age man, with an ever widening girth, a face full and bright with ruddy red cheeks. Nonetheless and despite his almost comical appearance, Ivy had to sit there and take it.

Her own mind was already punishing her. They were late, and that few seconds allowed that filth, that piece of trash walk straight past her. Not literally of course, but he did allude her which made her blood boil.

The lives they'd lost affected her deeply. Because to someone else that had just lost there Nigel. The muggles who were completely innocent in there whole affair, paid the price. The saying Ignorance is Bliss, is not all what it's cracked up to be. Sometimes Ivy thought that this earth was not big enough for the Wizarding world, and the muggles. But not for the same reason the scum thought.

Ivy felt like she was completely helpless as Cornelius yelled over and over at her. Her eyes cast down to the floor, the guilt was consumed by hatred. Vengance. She wanted to find them. Make them pay over and over for every single 'Nigel' she couldn't save.

Finally his red cheeks blew out and all she got was a "Get out of my sight". She didn't need to be told twice.

Ivy was never one for being told what to do, but there was a time and a place, and seeing as though a great many souls were lost because of her she wasn' in the mood for arguing. She simply nodded, swept her hair over her shoulder, grabbed her coat and left.

Down the corridors there were rumours flying all over the place. Whispers of You-Know-who. Ivy hated that. The Man had a name, she would say it too. To his face if ever the desired opportunity arose. Heck she knew she'd be pissed off it someone called her 'Whatsherface'. Pride you could say was one of Ivy's weakness.

Shaking her pretty little head, and with a sigh Ivy slumped into her chair. The office was bare, apart from the furniture. A couch that often served as a bed when Ivy had work, a seat that was there for visitors that never came, and an old wooden desk that was covered in paperwork. Partly used as a pillow sometimes. And she took heed of that and her head floated to the desk.

Short lived albeit, Ivy's Atlantic blue eyes closed before her door opened. Not bothering to look up she sighed angrily. "Ever heard of knocking?"

Apparently not IVy thought. With a furrowed brow she lifted her head, hair sprayed everywhere and resting it on her lithe hands, her eyes finally looked to the door. Mack stood there, looking as though her could do with a vacation. A long one.

"Simmons, we'll get em' next time. Intell reckons his back. You-know-who s'back. 'Parrently dem Defeaters are just gettin started yer..." His thick accent did her head in sometimes.

"No shit Sherlock." She said. Funny expression really, Ivy had heard a muggle say it once, and she often wondered what a 'Sherlock' was. "I need a drink. A stiff one." Pausing she got up and stretched. "Care to join me?" She asked her partner.

"Nah Fanks fo Ivy, Missus says gotta be 'ome much as can, Says kids need to see dere fafa." And with that he was off.

Ivy's head cocked sideways as she watched him off. One day she would place that horrible accent, and if not at least pay for lessons in elecution.

Grabbing her coat she headed off. "Probably drink you all under the table..." She muttered under her breath.

*~*~*~*~**~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Ivy's watering hole of choice was The Leaky Cauldron. Yes for every self respecting wizard or witch, you wouldn't be caught dead in the dingy bar. But Ivy found it most useful...

The room is smoky, spiritual...a priest is kneeling - deep in prayer. The sunlight invades from a high arched window, keeping the shape of its entrance as it beams onto a cross, enhancing its glimmering.

Suddenly, the cross moves. It is on the lid of a certain case. A case filled with some gray powder. The lid is closed with a thud.

If one were to move closer to the priest, one would discover that he was not actually praying. He is bent over this case as a drop of sweat appears on his brow - the only indication of his concentration.

In the priest's hand can be found a ten inch oak wand with a dragon heartstring core. The tip of the wand is pointed towards the case and a light transmits from it in the same manner that the sunlight entered the room. The light covers the case in a subtle glow while the priest mumbles incantations that can only be heard by him.

It was a concept he'd learned from the muggles. The case was packed full of a highly explosive powder. He was casting a timed charm on it to produce a spark at exactly an hour from when the charm is fully set. The spark would touch the powder in the case and we know what happens next.

When he is done, the priest stands up and exits, quietly shutting the door behind him. A voice startles him.

"What are you doing?"

The priest turned around. "Thank goodness! I feel like Theseus in the labyrinth. Tell me, where's the men's room?"

The janitor frowns. "This area is off limits, father. How did you get in that room?"

The priest gives him a saintly smile - one that was enhanced by the sunlight that graced the angles of his face. He places a priestly arm around the janitor and leads him down the hall.

"Okay. I have a confession to make, but you're not going to like it. I was planting a bomb."

Mr. Janitor stopped in his tracks. "Bomb?"

The smile remains on the priest's face. "You know... boom. Like magic. Like... Avada Kedavra."

A flash of green light passes between the two men. The janitor's eyes roll up into his head. He slumps towards the priest, and the priest heaves him down a stairwell. He drops the body onto the steps and kicks the janitor's mop and bucket down the stairs - making everything look like it was an accident.

---------------

A few days later.
The Leaky Cauldron.

Sebastian Pollux tipped his head back, lifted his glass and let its few remaining drops of firewhiskey trickle into his mouth. The glass was returned to the table with a rather large thud that drew the attention of Tom the barkeep, who called over to him. "Want another one?"

Sebastian just twitched the corner of his lip and waved his hand stand-offishly. "No, I'm fine."

He was not here to get drunk. He was merely here to warm himself.

And eavesdrop.

In the booth behind him, he could clearly hear the patrons talking. "Have you heard? Some convention center in muggle London was blown up. It killed 73 people and wounded plenty more."

"Yes I saw that in the Daily Prophet. It was hosting some international church choir performance was it not? And they suspect that it was done by magic."

"It clearly is magic! The muggle police had found pieces of a case with some traces of explosive substance in it. But they weren't able to find any device to 'set off' what they call a 'bomb'. The Ministry has also been alerted to magic being cast amongst the muggles on that same day. And one of the muggles has been..."

There was a slight pause, as if the speaker was hesitant to continue, "...one was found dead via the Killing Curse."

Another pause.

"Do you think it's the Death Eaters?"

"I don't know... but if those rumours about You-Know-Who being back are true..."

Blah blah blah. Sebastian had heard what he wanted to hear.

His wizarding version of a bomb had worked. A significant number of muggles were dead and the Ministry knew it had been done by a wizard. Terror. They were going to plant terror in the people's hearts. Fear led to despair. Despair was a powerful offensive tool that would help the Death Eaters and the Dark Lord rise again.

He placed a cigarette between his lips, lit it with his wand, and sucked it to life.

 In The Night

Darkness. The night rather. Ivy loved it. Nothing was more terrifying than something you couldn’t see. The night was full of it. And for Ivy there was nothing more erotic then living off the adrenaline of fear. Some people in her department didn’t understand. They shouldn’t have been Aurors. She loved it. The fact that every night was different, every night was an un-opened door. Something the muggle Alfred Hitchcock once described as the most terrifying thing...Ever.

So as the night consumed her, and her vivid troubled blue eyes adjusted to the intense lack of light, she lit up a cigarette. And waited. Inhaling the smoke, she felt it literally kill her lungs. Another thing she loved about her job. The perks of the job were one of the reasons she busted her ass off every day looking for scum. A.k.a. Deatheaters.

It was there on a lonely, dark street that Ivy waited. The wind cold and bitter, a proper English north easterly swept her blonde curls into her face. Tying it up quickly, she sighed and straightened her low cut top. Hey, just because she kicked butt every night, didn’t mean she couldn’t look nice. And she did. A curvy body and ever so slightly magicked large breasts, pale English skin and the brightest blue eyes. She had once been called ethereal by an attacker, a patronizing ass hole who did think that, when she delivered him personally to Azkaban. Some time had passed and she flicked the butt on the floor. Pursing her plump lips she sighed.

The street looked like any normal one, filled with identical homes, an average street really. Average for North England anyway. Nothing seemed to be different. But to Ivy it reeked with the scent of Deatheaters. She couldn’t actually smell them, let’s keep that in mind, but she had developed an uncanny sense of scouting them out.

A ruckus from a begonia bush, and her eyes darted to that direction. It was Mack, a fellow Auror. And to her dismay he’d brought the new recruit. An Asian girl, with short spiky hair, and violet eyes, the girl had spunk but lacked common sense. Ivy was surprised that she had made it into the program, but seeing as she did Ivy had to learn to trust her department’s choice.

“Ivy... You know Marcheline?” Mack said as he straightened his long silvery gray hair, and wiped his mouth, obviously a little tuckered out from the journey from London. His round belly heaved up and down as he struggled for breath.

“No.” She looked her up and down. “You’re late Mack. There not here yet, but if they had been” Eyes narrowing, she spoke with a hushed voice. “You really shouldn’t be here.” Snapping at the girl, who was standing defiantly as though she was trying to prove her worth. “You’ll just get in the way.”

Mack made an odd sound as though he was trying to shush her, knowing just how short Ivy’s temper was.

“They changed their plans Ivy. HQ just informed me. Back in London.” Mack told her, standing back.
“How very inconsiderate of them...” Ivy said, her voice dripping with disdain. “Well, what are we waiting for?” Another stare at ‘Marcheline’ and Ivy shook her head.
“They’re getting younger every year. Must be easier for parents to bury when they haven’t known them long.” And with that she apparated back to London.

Ivy had been brewing this intense hatred for Deatheaters, for 10 years. Ever since they took him. Nigel. He was killed in the riots after Lord Voldemort had returned. At just seventeen Ivy witnessed the slaughter of the only man she ever loved. After that however cliche it may sound, Ivy vowed to avenge him. And from that fateful day she had never loved another man.

Her stint in Auror training was quicker then usual. She had a natural aptitude for charms, and she was bright. The fact that she had a burning desire to annihilate the entire syndicate and the fact that she had literally nothing left to lose made her a perfect candidate for the dangerous job. But she had surprised every one and lasted 10 years in the profession.

Often her blonde angel-like looks worked in her favor. They often underestimated her (the Deatheaters that is), thinking maybe she was a new recruit, an easy target. She valued her youthful looks, and the 27-year-old knew they wouldn’t last forever.

HQ was bustling as always. Filled with people yelling, and throwing things and magicking things. She pushed her way through the crowd to the Office. There she found her notes, and realised that the Deatheaters were probably already done. In Hyde Park, the note had said. Perfect really. Dark, dank, full of cover for them and too many freaks in London for them to stand out.
